your rewarding community contribution
As a condition of your entry into the Tennents Caledonian Challenge 2010, you and your team-mates are collectively committing to raise funds exclusively for the Scottish Community Foundation by the Fundraising Deadline, 31 July 2010.
The minimum fundraising commitment for a standard team of four participants is to raise at least £2,000 by this date. This works out as an average of £500 per participant. The amount increases on a proportionate basis for teams of five or six people i.e. £2500 and £3000 respectively.
In essence, your commitment means you will need to inspire at least 4 friends, 3 work-mates, 2 relatives and a neighbour to sponsor you £1 per mile.
We are experts in events fundraising and can offer you great support, ideas and guidance as well as incentives to inspire you to make the most of this challenge. We find that when people hear about what you are undertaking the good work of the Foundation and the fact that it typically matches ever £1 distributed from the event with a further £2 from other philanthropic sources, they are incredibly generous, most teams are surprised and delighted at how much they raise. On average last year, each team raised £3,000.
Scottish community foundation
All the funds you raise will help to enhance the lives of thousands of people, by supporting much-needed community services in some of the UK's most isolated communities. The funds raised will be managed and distributed by the Scottish Community Foundation. The Foundation is an expert in charitable giving and a leading distributor of philanthropic funds, as well as being a registered charity itself.
The Foundation awards grants to enterprising and dynamic voluntary groups and community organisations close to the course and throughout Scotland. These grants make a difference to the lives of thousands of local people.
The Foundation also supports the running costs of the event, effectively subsidising your Entry Fee and making it very good value. Therefore all the funds you raise will be channelled to the Foundation. Your team may however opt to support a particular aspect of our work. Find out more about us and the various fundraising themes available.
Your fundraising total
The total funds raised by your team is the amount received by the Scottish Community Foundation and is attributed to your team. We make it easy for you to transfer funds to us both on- and offline.
The amount you raise does not include your Entry Fees, which go to the costs of organising the event. Nor does it include the Gift Aid received on the donations because the Foundation reclaims this from the government some time after the event. Your fundraising total may include matched-funds donated by your employer once you have raised your share of the team's fundraising minimum commitment.
