The Caledonian Hike (26 Miles): Saturday 16th June 2012

If the idea of completing the RBS Caledonian Challenge is too daunting we have developed a ‘26 mile in 12 hours' option that gives participants a taste of the walking experience as well as the satisfaction of raising funds for local charities.

The Hike route is incorporated within the RBS Caledonian Challenge event and takes place on Saturday 16th June. As with the Challenge, you will need to be in Fort William on the Friday (15 June) evening to register.

A spectacular outdoor adventure

The new distance of 26 miles will still take you through some of Scotland's most famous, remote, rugged and stunningly beautiful highland landscapes. Your team will follow the West Highland Way out of Fort William through Kinlochleven and then onto the Finish line at the Glencoe Mountain Centre.

An amazing physical achievement

You will walk the edited highlights of the RBS Caledonian Challenge course including the 550m continuous ascent out of Kinlochleven to the top of the Devil's Staircase and one of the finest views to behold in Britain. The 26.2 mile course makes for a stunning one-day Hike to be completed in 12 hours or a truly amazing off-road marathon to be completed in just 6 hours!

Our events are designed to be a challenge, but accessible to anyone with the right training, good support, appropriate kit and a positive attitude.

A fun experience to share with friends

The Caledonian Hike is a team event. By training together, fundraising together and sharing the exhilarating experience of taking part in the event together, you and your friends or work-mates will take away some fantastic memories which will last a lifetime.

In addition every team will need a Support Crew, or as we call them the ‘Unsung Heroes'! These ‘Heroes' will provide your team with unstinting practical and emotional support during the Hike.

Alternatively you can ask us to provide this support for you. Further information and prices are available, please just contact SCF Events on 0131 524 0350.
