Volunteering

(This section is about helping out in the office in the lead-up to our events. If you would like to help out on our events, please go to volunteering section for more information.)

We have more than enough work to go around here in the busy events office and we would be delighted to welcome an additional pair of helping hands to help share the load. If you are looking to gain some experience in a particular type of work or simply have some time on your hands which you would like to put to constructive use, please contact us.

We can offer you the right mix  of interesting challenges to solve and some more straightforward tasks to suit your requirements. We would induct you into our work and then give you the room to get on with the tasks in hand. In order to make this a worthwhile experience for all involved, we would expect a reasonable commitment of time, such as :

  • 1 day a week for at least 6 months
  • 2 days a week for at least 3 months
  • 3 days a week for at least 2 months
  • 4 days a week for at least 1 month

Essential Competencies

As with any modern work-place, a certain level of computer literacy is expected. Competence in Microsoft Office Word and Excel are basic requirements. Familiarity with PowerPoint and Access a bonus.

Our work often takes us out and about all over the UK. You may need to be able to travel reasonably frequently. Possession of a UK driving licence is highly desirable, even if you do not own your own car. Some evening and weekend work may well be required, especially at the event, and you may be required to stay overnight.

All personnel must be legally entitled to work in the UK
