During the 24-hour period you will pass through some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery. From Fort William heading through Glen Coe via the 'Devil's staircase' to cross the remote Rannoch Moor and onto the bonny banks of Loch Lomond.

Finding REGISTRATION : Nevis Centre, An Aird, Fort William (Tel: + 44 (0) 1397 700 707) (grid ref. 106745)
(From the south) heading North on A82 enter Fort William straight over the first roundabout, left at the second and right at the third. The Nevis Centre (Ex Marcos) and car park are forward on the left, opposite Safeway.
From the Nevis Centre, exit the car park and turn right, with Safeway now on the left at the roundabout take the first left. At the second roundabout (Rail Station on left) again take the first left. You are now back on the A82 heading North, follow all signs to The Brave Heart Car Park at Nevis Bridge, pass the Nevis Bank Hotel and the Woollen Mill on the right. At the mini-roundabout take the 2nd exit heading off to the right, down the Nevis Valley road away from Fort William and no more than ¾ mile later you will come to the Brave Heart Car Park on the right (grid ref. 123737 on the State Street Caledonian Challenge map). Marshals will guide you through the forestry gate for approx ¾ mile to a drop-off zone where all walkers should separate themselves from any motorised vehicle for the next 24 hours!
Finding CHECK POINT ONE : Kinlochleven (12 MILES) (grid ref. 183624)
Turn left out of any of the Glen Nevis forestry (the start) track exits, towards Fort William. Turn left into Fort William at 1st mini-roundabout, (remembering to fill up with fuel) bear left at the next roundabout, taking the A82 south signed Crianlarich & Glasgow. After the Onich Shell petrol station on the right you will come into North Ballachulish, take a left (before the bridge on the B863) towards Kinlochleven. As you enter Kinlochleven the checkpoint is on your right (by The Macdonald Hotel) in the High School grounds.

Finding CHECK POINT TWO : Glen Coe Ski Centre (10 MILES) (grid ref. 266525)
Turn right out of Kinlochleven High School (checkpoint one) and continue on the B863 towards GlenCoe where you turn left back onto the A82 (Shell petrol station on the right - fill up with fuel). Continue south towards Crianlarich & Glasgow. Take a right (beware of walkers crossing the road) into the check point signed Glen Coe Ski Centre (this is shortly after the King's House Hotel which you pass on the left).
Finding CHECK POINT THREE : The Inveroran Hotel (8.5MILES) (gird ref. 274414)
Turn right out of the Glen Coe Ski Centre (checkpoint two) and continue heading south down the A82 towards Crianlarich & Glasgow. Shortly after descending Black Mount, the road straightens and you arrive at Bridge of Orchy. Turn right (beware of walkers crossing the road) before the hotel and follow the A8005 for 3.5 miles to The Inveroran Hotel. Please pay attention you are now in a one-way system

Finding CHECK POINT FOUR : The Auchtertyre Wigwams (11 MILES) (grid ref.
354290)
Follow the one-way system by turning right out of The Inveroran Hotel towards Victoria Bridge. Turn right onto the private drive of Black Mount; follow this for approx 3.1 miles past Doire Bheag and onto Tulla Cottage where you will re-join the A82. Turn right on the A82 (beware of other Challenge traffic coming from the left) you are now heading south towards Crianlarich & Glasgow. Pass through Bridge of Orchy, (beware of walkers crossing the road) through Tyndrum (beware of walkers crossing the road) and after 2 miles take a left signed Strathfillan Wigwams & Auchtertyre Farm (beware of walkers crossing the road). Please pay attention you are now in a one-way system, follow the track and go right over the bridge.

Finding THE FINISH : Stuckendroin Farm (12.5 MILES) (grid. Ref 323146)
Follow the one-way system out of Auchtertyre Wigwams (checkpoint four). Turn left onto A82 heading south towards Crianlarich & Glasgow (beware of walkers crossing the road). Once in Crianlarich turn right (continue on the A82) heading south towards Ardlui, passing through Inverarnan. Go through Ardlui heading towards Glasgow and turn left (800m after Bothan Bothy) into Stuckendroin Farm field towards Loch Lomond. Please pay attention; there is only one entrance and exit point - (beware of walkers using the same field) and wait to be parked by our marshals. Having been parked make your way down to the Loch and the reception area. Walkers will be arriving by ferry from Ardleish (grid. Ref 329153) on the other side of the Loch.
Finding Edinburgh or Glasgow
Turn left out of the finishing field and head south on A82 towards Glasgow.
For Edinburgh, turn left on to A811 towards Stirling, turn right onto M9.
