your spectacular Adventure

Your epic journey will take you through some of Scotland’s most famous, remote, rugged and stunningly beautiful landscapes. You will experience majestic views of Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain, the magnificence of Glencoe and Buachaille Etive Mor, the wilds of Rannoch Moor, and the scenic Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

The caledonian challenge Route

The RBS Caledonian Challenge will commence at the Start Line in Gairlochy, 8 miles north of Fort William. Your team will walk south along the Great Glen Ways, where you and your team-mates will take in the majestic sight of Ben Nevis in all its glory before you reach Checkpoint 1 at the Lochaber High School, Fort William.

Your team will then set off towards Glen Nevis and join the famous West Highland Way, due south. Take a moment to capture the breathtaking view of Loch Leven before heading down the trail that will lead you to Checkpoint 2 at the Ice Factor, Kinlochleven.

Once you leave Checkpoint 2, it's a steady climb up to the summit of the Devil's Staircase, where you will take in the splendour of Glencoe and Buachaille Etive Mor, before descending down the Devil's Staircase and making progress towards the Glencoe Ski Centre and Checkpoint 3.

Teams will then take in the wilds of Rannoch Moor as they leave Checkpoint 3 and continue on the West Highland Way to reach Checkpoint 4 at Inveroran. Once your team have mustered that last bit of enthusiasm and determination to complete the Challenge, you will walk via Bridge of Orchy and Tyndrum to reach the Finish Line at Auchtertyre and complete the 54 Mile course.
