For many years, the Royal Bank of Scotland has been title sponsor of the RBS Caledonian Challenge, the UK's most spectacular sponsored walk to strengthen the most isolated communities.

Employee Engagement

To date, more than 2,500 RBS employees have taken part in the event and more than 10,000 of their colleagues have supported them in their endeavour, either attending the event itself or by sponsoring them.

To have RBS as the title sponsor for the 2011 RBS Caledonian Challenge is hugely important, not only to beneficiaries but to Scotland as a whole. The Royal Bank of Scotland are doing some fantastic work in helping strengthen communities and to help change the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the UK.

Supporting Scottish heartlands

The RBS Caledonian Challenge raises funds to strengthen Scottish communities.

All funds raised from the Challenge are distributed by the Scottish Community Foundation, an expert in charitable giving.

By supporting the event in 2011, RBS made a distinctive contribution to its Scottish heartland, and in a very effective way too: every pound that is raised from the event and distributed by the Foundation is typically matched by a further two pounds that the Foundation finds from other sources.

Acknowledgement of RBS Support

RBS support of the event and of the Scottish communities it supports was noticed by:

  • almost 5,000 Participants,
  • 2,500 supporters and
  • over 40,000 friends and relatives who sponsored the participants.

We hope that we can continue our strong relationship with RBS in the future.
